We facilitate highly engaged cultural-exchange themed projects, especially exploring industry trends and potential themes.  We explore how Asian-Australian insiders can have deep interactions, exchange and consequently make new contributions on the performing arts industry.

We are very proud to recount our incredible journey at APAM – Australian Performing Arts Market. Cross Encounters, engaged by the Australian Council of the Arts, had the privilege of fostering collaboration amongst Chinese-Australian performing arts masters.

Together, we’re sculpting a global tapestry of intercultural performing arts, strengthening the bonds between Australia and Asia.

We also facilitate mentoring and development opportunities for emerging artist that need expert assistance,  guiding them with development, opportunities, helping with artistic career planning, and  realising them on stage and screen. We have helped more than 80 emerging artists and crew get involved in performing arts on the stage.

In partnership with bodies, institutions, arts and cultural organisations and entities, we produce and deliver stage and screen productions, as well as communication seminars, discussions, and meet ups. Our programs addressing intercultural performing arts practices are creating provoking and influential effects. We have successful contacts and relationships with a list of external established arts and cultural organisations and educational groups from both Australian and Asian cultural backgrounds, and we are engaged by local and national arts governing bodies such as Australian Council of arts, the department of Multicultural Affairs, the Victoria State Government. 

As a representative from local cross-cultural performing arts groups, we have also built up successful initial contacts with relevant international organisations such as Australian Centre of Chinese Culture and Arts, Beijing 707N Theatre and Shenzhen Fringe Art Centre.  We will keep building up these connections so as to promote Australian arts practitioners and to foster intercultural performing arts collaborations on an international stage. 

Through our growing reputation, we have achieved 1st place in google keyword research: When searching for “Chinese Australian cross-cultural performing arts” or “肢体剧” on Google, “Cross Encounters”, and “Olivia Wang” automatically appears on the top searches list. These words have accumulated multiple keyword searches on relevant front pages with extremely high click-through rates.

We’re welcoming new partners from artistic, cultural, educational, and government organisations from different cultural backgrounds to approach us and join this meaningful and amazing journey. We also welcome different corporate/commercial film/web and television investors, or entertainment club, business or private event convener to get in touch with us. We hope to collaborate with you and co-create high valued projects.

We serve as a cultural bridge between Australia and other countries through the arts, and we inspire artists and audiences to embrace and experience a rich, diverse, multicultural Australia.
