As an Australian cross-cultural performing arts charity, Cross Encounters is committed to nurturing emerging artists, with particular attention to Asian and culturally diverse creatives working both on and off screen.
In 2026, we invite Melbourne-based screenwriters and directors with strong social awareness and creative potential to submit project ideas that explore meaningful contemporary themes within an Australian context.
We are interested in works that reflect youth perspectives, social relevance, and cross-cultural experience.
Selected applicants will receive developmental guidance and institutional support during the project exploration phase, including creative dialogue and industry pathway consultation. The specific scope of collaboration will be discussed individually based on project needs.
