Cross Encounters is pleased to announce the launch of its Artist Exchange Series, taking place during MIFF 2026.
The initiative brings together a small number of Australian and international filmmakers whose artistic practices resonate with Cross Encounters’ ongoing interests in embodied performance, migration, female subjectivity and cross-cultural storytelling.
Rather than formal interviews or promotional coverage, the series focuses on informal artist-to-artist conversations, bilingual Artist Spotlights and meaningful creative exchanges throughout the festival period.
The program will be led by Olivia Wang, an award-winning Chinese–Australian actor, producer and founder of Cross Encounters.
Selected participants will be featured across Cross Encounters’ bilingual platforms through Artist Spotlights, brief reflections and cross-cultural conversations, contributing to ongoing dialogue between Australian and international screen communities.
We look forward to meeting filmmakers, artists and creative practitioners during MIFF 2026 and to building long-term creative relationships through cinema, performance and cross-cultural exchange.
